JALON’S PRIORITIES

Every family feels it when prices go up.
You see it at the grocery store. You see it when childcare costs come due. You see it when property taxes, insurance premiums, or utility bills arrive.
As a father raising five children, I know how quickly those costs add up. Families are working hard, budgeting carefully, and trying to build a good life for their kids. They deserve leaders who understand those realities.
I'll support practical solutions that help families keep more of what they earn, including targeted tax relief, affordable childcare options, workforce training opportunities, and policies that encourage economic growth without shifting costs onto working people.
Kansas should be a place where families can plan for the future with confidence and where hard work gives people a fair chance to get ahead.

Healthcare has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Living with a rare muscular disease has given me a firsthand look at how complicated and expensive our healthcare system can be. I've spent time in doctor's offices, worked through insurance issues, and worried about costs just like many families in our community.
Nobody should have to put off seeing a doctor because they're worried about the bill. Nobody should have to choose between filling a prescription and paying for groceries.
As your State Representative, I'll support efforts to lower healthcare costs, strengthen rural and community healthcare services, expand access to mental health care, and make sure more Kansans can get the care they need when they need it. Good healthcare shouldn't depend on your income, your job, or your ZIP code.

As a paraeducator and the father of five children, I see every day how important our public schools are to students, parents, and our community.
I work alongside teachers and school staff who care deeply about helping kids succeed. I also see the challenges schools face when they're expected to do more without the resources they need.
One example is special education funding. Kansas law says the state should cover 92% of excess special education costs, but for years the Legislature has failed to meet that commitment. When that happens, local school districts have to pull money from their general education budgets to make up the difference.
That means fewer resources available for classrooms, teachers, and students across the entire district.
Students with disabilities deserve the support and services they need. Families deserve schools that are properly funded. Teachers deserve the resources to help every student succeed.
As your State Representative, I'll support fully funding public education, meeting the state's commitment to special education, and making sure local schools aren't forced to choose between supporting special education students and meeting the needs of every other student in the classroom.

I believe most people want the freedom to make their own personal decisions without politicians stepping into the middle of them.
Whether it's healthcare decisions, reproductive healthcare, or other deeply personal choices, I trust individuals and families to make the decisions that are right for their own lives.
Kansas voters have made it clear that personal freedom matters. As your State Representative, I'll work to protect privacy, defend individual rights, and keep government focused on the responsibilities it was elected to handle.
People may not agree on every issue, but most of us agree that personal decisions should stay personal.
